Anger Management Program

Frequently asked questions

What is the Anger Management Program?
The Anger Management Program is a comprehensive, structured online course designed to help participants better understand anger, recognize their personal triggers, and gain knowledge of strategies that support lasting change.
Is this course therapy or psychological treatment?
No. This is an educational program. It is not intended to provide a psychological or psychiatric diagnosis, psychotherapy, counselling, legal advice, or any other professional treatment service. Participation in the program does not create a therapist-client, psychologist-client, counsellor-client, or lawyer-client relationship. Individuals who need psychotherapy, counselling, or any other mental health services are encouraged to contact the relevant regulatory body directly to find a qualified, licensed professional. In Quebec, this may include the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. Participants residing elsewhere should contact the equivalent regulatory college or professional order in their own province or territory.
Who is this program for?
This program is designed for individuals required by court order to complete an anger management program, those on probation or parole, and those referred by a lawyer, probation officer, social worker, employer, or support organization. It is equally suited to anyone who wishes to strengthen their communication skills, better manage conflict, and adopt healthier responses to difficult situations.
Is this program recognized by the courts?
The program was developed to meet the standards typically expected by courts, probation officers, and legal professionals across Canada. That said, acceptance of any educational program remains entirely at the discretion of the judge, probation officer, or other relevant authority. Participants are encouraged to confirm the program's acceptability with the relevant authority before enrolling. Successful completion of the program does not guarantee any particular legal outcome.
Does completing the program guarantee a reduced sentence or dismissal of charges?
No. Successful completion does not guarantee an acquittal, discharge, reduced sentence, withdrawal or dismissal of charges, or any other judicial outcome. Legal decisions rest solely with judges and other competent authorities, who rule based on the specific circumstances of each case.
How is the program structured?
The program consists of six modules that progressively guide participants through the process of understanding and managing anger. Topics include emotional awareness and anger triggers; the legal and social consequences of unmanaged anger; communication and conflict resolution skills; coping strategies and self-regulation techniques; repairing relationships and taking responsibility; and developing a long-term anger management plan. Each module combines educational content, practical exercises, personal reflection activities, and opportunities to build skills that support meaningful change.
How long does it take to complete the program?
Most participants spend between 26 and 30 hours completing the program. Since it is entirely self-paced, actual completion time may vary depending on reading speed, level of engagement with the exercises, and individual learning preferences.
Is the program offered online?
Yes. The program is accessible online and can be completed using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Participants can log in at any time and progress at their own pace, according to their availability.
What learning activities are included?
The program includes a range of interactive activities designed to support learning and personal reflection, including scenario-based exercises, knowledge check quizzes, reflective assignments, journaling activities, and practical self-regulation exercises. These activities allow participants to apply program concepts to real-life situations and to build skills that extend well beyond the course itself.
Is the program available in multiple languages?
Yes. To support accessibility and inclusion, the program is currently offered in English, French, Armenian, Georgian, Turkish, Persian, Russian, and Ukrainian.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
Yes. Participants who successfully complete all required modules and activities receive a bilingual (English and French) Certificate of Completion, which can be downloaded, printed for personal records, or submitted to the relevant authority as needed.
Can proof of completion be sent directly to a court or relevant authority?
Yes. With the participant's consent, official proof of completion can be sent directly to a court, lawyer, probation officer, employer, or other authorized person or organization through the program's court reporting service.
How is confidentiality maintained?
Participant privacy and confidentiality are taken seriously and are maintained in accordance with applicable legal requirements. No information is shared with a court, probation officer, lawyer, or other relevant authority without the participant's consent, except where required by law.
Is this program useful for personal development, even without legal involvement?
Absolutely. While many participants enroll to meet legal or professional requirements, the program is equally valuable for those seeking to deepen their emotional awareness, reduce interpersonal conflict, strengthen personal and professional relationships, improve communication skills, and adopt healthier strategies for managing everyday stress, frustration, and anger.

Meaning Behind Our Logo

Our logo reflects the philosophy of the Anger Management Program: the goal is not to eliminate or suppress anger, but to understand it, respond to it constructively, and build stronger self-control. Overlapping shapes represent the complexity of emotion. Anger rarely exists alone - it often intertwines with stress, frustration, fear, or disappointment. Movement toward the centre symbolizes growing self-awareness. As the layers converge, the centre sharpens - mirroring the process of identifying triggers, recognizing patterns, and responding more consciously. Soft, irregular forms convey that emotions are fluid, not fixed. With the right skills, a person can learn to shape their response rather than be ruled by anger. Blue represents calm, stability, and trust. Transparency signifies clarity - the ability to see beneath a reaction and move from impulse toward understanding and control.
